Prior to founding his company, Dr. Markus Busuttil gained over 11 years of experience advising on R&D tax incentives in the United Kingdom, including more than five years at Deloitte. During this time, he supported clients ranging from industrial companies to publicly listed multinational groups and private equity funds.

Dr. Markus Busuttil studied Mechanical Engineering in Hanover and Wales. Following his degree, he completed his PhD at a collaborative research center between the University of Birmingham and Rolls-Royce. During this time, he developed innovative simulation and friction models in the field of hot forming and supported Rolls-Royce in reorganizing manufacturing processes for the production of aircraft turbine blades.

2003-2008 – Academic Education

Between 2003 and 2008, Dr. Busuttil studied Industrial Engineering in Hanover, with a focus on Mechanical Engineering and Technical Sales. From 2007 to 2008, he also studied at the University of Glamorgan (Wales) as part of the Erasmus Programme, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science (Hons) in Technology Management.

2009-2013 – Doctorate

Dr. Busuttil completed his PhD in the field of Metallurgy at a collaborative research center between the University of Birmingham and Rolls-Royce. During this time, he developed innovative simulation and friction models in the area of hot forming. He also supported Rolls-Royce in applying simulation technologies to reorganize manufacturing processes for the production of aircraft turbine blades.

2013-2015 – Technical Consultant at MPA Group

As a consultant at MPA Group, Dr. Busuttil managed the advisory process for R&D tax incentives for clients across industries including automotive, aerospace, software development, and the creative sector. He also supported clients in qualifying development activities and costs within R&D projects. In a senior role, he held responsibility for both technical aspects and project budgets.

2015-2020 – Deloitte UK

Dr. Markus Busuttil joined Deloitte, one of the world’s leading professional services firms in finance and tax. During his time there, he gained extensive experience in R&D tax incentives. Initially serving as a Manager within the Innovation Tax Group, he later led growth strategy initiatives. He also advised clients ranging from industrial companies to large publicly listed multinational groups and private equity funds.
